Open Week of Expert Teachers
The autumn atmosphere is becoming more and more profound, while the teaching and research activities are flourishing. In order to fully leverage the exemplary and leading role of outstanding teachers and to establish a platform for teachers to exchange and learn, the 'Open Week of Expert Teachers' event of the Junior High School Department of Anqing Foreign Language School's west campus was successfully held recently.
In the first place, teacher Hu Chengwen from the English group gave a wonderful English lesson for the students based on the poem 'Mom Knows Best' in Section A of the seventh unit of Grade 9 English, which combined language learning with emotional education.
In the second place, the 'Solving Right-Angled Triangles' demonstration lesson presented by teacher Li Rong from the mathematics group was based on the scenario of 'Height Measurement of Anqing Zhenfeng Tower'. To be concrete, through the design of 'connecting knowledge with life and driving thinking through exploration', combined with the deep participation of students, Li Rong presented a mathematics class that integrated practice and academic standards.
In the third place, teacher Ren Yan from the English group presented an incredible English writing demonstration lesson for the seventh grade students. Specifically, this class focused on the writing section of 'Unit 4 My Favourite Subject' in the first semester of Grade 7 of the People's Education Edition. With the theme of 'People and Self - Learning Life', and centered on the consistency of 'teaching - learning - assessment', not only did the classroom teaching achieve language skills training but also stimulated students' enthusiasm for expression, demonstrating the professional quality and classroom charm of the teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School.
In the fourth place, teacher Tang Fangfang from the English Department gave a listening and speaking class on the theme of 'Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes' in Class 912, presenting a model lesson that combines 'language practice' with 'depth of thinking'. It's noteworthy that the class focused on 'rules and autonomy', which not only fulfilled the curriculum requirements of 'listening and speaking skills training', but also incorporated the value guidance of 'balancing rule awareness and autonomy awareness'. 
In the fifth place, teacher Wang Qihai from the Chemistry Group delivered a demonstration lesson on 'Representation of Substance Composition', providing a wonderful teaching experience for young teachers. In the classroom teaching, teacher Wang laid emphasis on chemical formulas and adopted the 'macroscopic - microscopic' dual-line teaching method, combining concept explanations with case analyses to guide students in mastering the writing rules and reading methods of chemical formulas.
In the sixth place, teacher Wang Yue from the Mathematics Department presented a demonstration lesson based on the content of '14.2 Criteria for Congruent Triangles - Side-Side-Side Theorem' from the Shanghai Education Edition for Grade 8 mathematics, which was rich in both academic depth and teaching warmth. For instance, teacher Wang focused on the topic 'The Reverse Relationship between Properties and Determination of Congruent Triangles', guiding the students to conduct hands-on practice through 'assembling triangles, stacking for verification, and making conjectures', and enabling them to independently derive the 'Side-Side-Side (SSS)' determination theorem. During this process, not only did this lesson strengthen students' intuitive imagination ability but also allowed the abstract geometric theorems to naturally emerge through the operations. 
In the seventh place, the 'Building a Shared Home for Life' moral and legal subject class presented by teacher Wu Jiamei from the Moral and Legal Education Group, with the innovative teaching design, immersive interactive experience, and AI-powered teaching methods, received unanimous praise from the teachers present, becoming the highlight class of this Open Week. What's more, in the classroom, students were highly motivated in their learning, actively participating in responses. Therefore, the interaction between teachers and students was effective. Meanwhile, the key points and difficult areas were handled appropriately, fully demonstrating the teaching philosophy of 'centering on learning'.
In the eighth place, teacher Ji Yukun from the Chinese Language group brought a composition guidance class, who used the exam essays from the recent mid-term exam in Grade 9 as examples, directly addressing the common problems in students' writing such as 'lack of details' and 'insufficiently tying to the topic'. Thus, from the three dimensions of environmental description, action details, and psychological description, Ji Yukun guided students on how to add details to their compositions.
Last but not the least, teacher Zhou Xingbin from the Chinese Language Group took 'The Battle between Family Affection and Money' as the starting point. Through interesting questions, Zhou Xingbin triggered students' thinking and quickly brought everyone into the context of the novel. Additionally, in the classroom teaching, Zhou Xingbin used precise inquiries to guide students to think deeply. Evidently, his solid teaching foundation, flexible classroom management skills, and profound interpretation of the text greatly inspired the teachers who attended the class.
To summarize, not only did this 'Open Week of Expert Teachers' event demonstrate the emphasis on teaching quality and the concern for teachers' professional development by Anqing Foreign Language School's Junior High School Department of the west campus, but also created a platform for teachers to learn from each other and make progress together. More noticeably, with the guidance and inspiration of outstanding teachers, all the teachers will devote themselves to teaching with greater enthusiasm, continuously improving their teaching skills, and injecting new vitality into the continuous enhancement of Anqing Foreign Language School's educational quality.
